PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND UNDERSTAND BEFORE SIGNING

The following are the TERMS & CONDITIONS for Writing Exams

1. BOOKINGS

• A NON-REFUNDABLE registration fee of USD20 per student MUST BE PAID UPON

REGISTRATION, together with the examination fee.

• Examination bookings are ONLY confirmed upon receiving an acknowledgement email after

registering on the registration portal. THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE.

• Failure to communicate any changes within the stipulated deadlines will result in the

immediate cancellation of the registration. Please note this will only be accepted for special

cases, i.e. medical. THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE.

• A confirmed registration and/ or examination (fee) is NOT TRANSFERABLE to another

person/candidate or another exam date.

• Each candidate MUST submit a national ID number or a valid passport upon registration.

That they bring on the day of the exam.

2. TERMS OF PAYMENT/FEES

• All payments will be made via bank deposit/transfer into our footnote

fee of $20 USD. Please note that sitting for 2 or more modules will require payment of the full

exam fee of USD 240.

Please note:

• A1 and A2 total exam fee is 200 USD for externals

• Registration and booking fees will be paid in a single payment.

• Proof of payment must be uploaded to the website when booking for the exam and must be

less than 14 days old from the date of deposit. After 14 days, the deposit becomes invalid.

3. EXAMINATION CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

We are accepting cancellations only in the case of proven sickness, accidents, natural disasters,

or death.

Cancellation BEFORE the start of an exam

• Cancellation requests may be submitted by email only when accompanied by a valid doctor’s

report. If you have any questions or concerns about our cancellation policy, please contact us

at info@goetheharare.org and at pr@goetheharare.org

• A doctor’s note must be provided 24 hours before the exam date if one cannot write due to

illness. In that case, another doctor’s note will be required to certify that one can write the

missed exam.

Cancellation AFTER the set deadline

• There will be NO REFUNDS if cancellation is made after the above-specified deadlines. In

this case, the candidates must RE-BOOK and RE-PAY for a new exam date.

• LATE ARRIVAL POLICY: All exams begin at 9:00 am. Candidates are required to arrive

at ZGS/GZH by 8:00 am to allow time for registration and exam preparation. Registration

closes at 8:30 am. Candidates who arrive after 8:30 am will be considered late, will not be

admitted to the exam, will receive no refund, and must book and pay for the next available

exam date.

Cancellation of Exam by the ZGS/GZH

• The ZGS/GZH reserves the right to CHANGE exam timetables or exam dates, POSTPONE

and/or CANCEL any exam initially offered based on insufficient demand or any other

reasonable ground.

• Where the ZGS/GZH cancels the exam, the Candidate/s will be offered an alternative date

for the examination.

the dates are still available. Proof of payment should be uploaded on the website.

4. REQUIREMENTS ON EXAM DATE

• Candidates MUST arrive at 8 am for the commencement of the exam, unless advised

otherwise by ZGS/GZH.

• Candidates MUST provide their IDs or a valid Passport for verification. Failure to produce

either of these will result in denial of entry into the exam room, and in such a case, the

candidate MUST rebook and pay for the next available exam date.

5. EXAM RESULTS

• The results for the Goethe-Zertifikat A1, A2, B1, B2 & C1 will be available within 5

working days unless otherwise notified. No enquiries concerning results will be entertained.

No exceptions will be made for earlier releases.

• Results will not be shared ONLINE, on our WHATSAPP PLATFORM or over the

TELEPHONE.

6. COLLECTION OF RESULTS

• ZGS/GZH is not obliged to send results. Students should collect and sign for their results

THEMSELVES OR A REPRESENTATIVE. Students sending a representative should

send a message via our WhatsApp platform or email info@goetheharare.org, indicating the

representative’s full name, ID number, and exam date. ZGS/GZH will not be liable for any

damage or losses resulting from the results collected by representatives. The representative

must present their ID number upon collection of the results.

7. REPRINTS OF CERTIFICATES

• Reprints will only be issued without a fee if ZGS/GZH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE

MISTAKE.

• Students should note that once certificates are collected and signed for without verifying their

information, a reprint will incur a USD 25 fee.

• Lost certificates will incur a USD 25 reprint fee.

8. DATA PROTECTION

The Goethe-Institut collects, processes, and uses the personal data of examination participants for

the purpose of fulfilling a contract concluded with the participants and within the framework of the

legal permissions and any data protection consent granted to the Goethe-Institut. Without this

consent, no data will be shared with third parties.

• Classes and Examinations take place at the ZGS/GZH, 51 Lawson Avenue, Milton Park,

Harare, unless advised otherwise by the ZGS/GZH.

• The Candidate shall observe the security regulations of the ZGS/GZH and any other location

where the exams are offered.

• Should any of the Candidate’s details provided above change, the Candidate shall forthwith

and WITHOUT DELAY notify the ZGS/GZH thereof IN WRITING.

• In the event of the ZGS/GZH instructing attorneys in regard to any candidate’s breach of the

conditions of this agreement, then the Candidate shall pay all the costs on the scale between

the Attorney and the Candidate’s own Client, including any costs incidental to such action

instituted against the Candidate.

• The ZGS/GZH reserves its right to change the terms and conditions whenever necessary and

inform the Candidate in writing.
