About Us

The Zimbabwe German Society/ Goethe Zentrum Harare is a language and culture centre established in 1983 and based in Harare, Zimbabwe. In 1996 the Zimbabwe German Society joined the Goethe Institut and officially adopted the name; Zimbabwe German Society/ Goethe Zentrum Harare. The ZGS/GZH focuses on the cultural and creative sector through education, skills transfer, entertainment and the teaching of German and the indigenous languages of Zimbabwe.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a platform for exchange between the German and Zimbabwean contemporary cultures through language and cultural interventions.

Our vision is to see the nurturing of the Creative and Cultural INdustries within Zimbabwe through our annual activities in the language and cultural pillars of the Zimbabwe German Society / GoetheZentrum Harare (ZGS/GZH).
